GOP Gone Wild

Being of Mexican descent, one would think that I could never be associated with the GOP Party.  Over most of my adult years I did however favor much of what they did and accomplished, until they began to change for the worse.  The article reprinted below is one that I believe all Americans should read regardless whether they do or do not support the GOP. The GOP’s Descent Into Madness–And America’s Apartheid (via HgTransEcon)
Years from now historians are going to have a ball with the early 21st century aren’t they? As political upheavals go, some historians in the future might say the election (and re-election) of Barack Obama might be the most consequential event in…

Obama Budget Joke

President Obama is about to release the new fiscal budget plan that he favors some two months after it was due.  Obama and the Congress make a joke out of their legal responsibility to the American public.  New rounds of debate are likely as the childlike method of choosing a plan is implemented.

US President Barack Obama will unveil his long-awaited budget for the fiscal year 2014 on April 10, two months after he was required by law to do so, the White House said Thursday. Fear in the Fields - In These Times

Fear in the Fields - In These Times

This article only helps to prove what may of us already know.  Just as in the days of slavery, the abuse continues, in a different form of slavery. Many have told of their fear in the fields only to have to endure even more fear.  One would think in this modern time in America such atrocities would not exist.  Sadly, it shamefully exists.

Sequester: 'It's your fault....No, your fault!' (+video) (via The Christian Science Monitor)
Just five days before the “sequester” and its automatic across-the-board spending cuts kicks in, Washington seems frozen in its inability to deal with what most people think is a terrible way to address the federal deficit – no apparent negotiations between the Obama administration and congressional…

Martin Luther King Day: How far is America along road to the dream?

Martin Luther King Day: How far is America along road to the 'dream'? (via The Christian Science Monitor)
President Obama began his second presidential term on Monday by laying his hand upon two Bibles: One was used by Abraham Lincoln, the other belonged to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the “traveling" Bible that the civil rights leader carried on marches. Those two volumes are symbolic bookends to…

16 Things About 2013

I wanted to share this article with you because it says many of the same things I have been alluding to in the past months.  We must begin to understand that life as we know it is getting worse and there is nothing in sight that makes me believe that it will get better, unless everyone first understands.

Fiscal cliff deal a mixed bag for the poor and homeless, too

Fiscal cliff deal a mixed bag for the poor and homeless, too (via NJ.com)
If you make more than $400,000 a year, your taxes are probably going up. If you make less than $10,000 a year, your taxes are probably going up, too. And that's one of the many reasons the past-the-last-minute deal to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff — nearly universally, if reluctantly, lauded…
