The Children Do Suffer

The children do suffer, do they not? Today she received a surprise parade in her honor. Some wonderful people here gave her a royal ride through her neighborhood. Along for the ride were Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. For today, this little girl was royalty decked out as a princess among princesses. Read more......http://goo.gl/22MRVf

A Sole Priest I Saw

I had an unusual incident the other day when I was shopping at the local Family Dollar store. While examining an item, I turned to my left side where I saw someone I had not seen in a very long time.

Rights, Man or God Given - http://po.st/WTY6rU

I saw this tweet by John Rich on a publication called Twitchy. He talks about not paying taxes and implies that poor should not complain about the rich since they provide them with jobs. Somehow he believes that there is no class system in America. read more....

This is a repost using composer.io as a trial run. Thanks.

Why is it that children must pay the price for our sins? Why does God, or whatever deity we choose to worship, not punish the ones responsible for the atrocities of this world? As long as I can remember, it has always been the sons and daughters who go to fight our wars. It is the innocent bystander, men, women and children that are murdered senselessly.

Whether it be the gangs, the drug cartels or foreign and domestic terrorists, it seems always the children die first. They are innocent of any wrong. They do not even know right from wrong yet. Why must our sins preclude our own guilt? Then, as if our sins are too much to bear, we kill our own children, after professing how dear they are to our lives.

I have no children of my own. I helped raise my two nephews as children with as much love as I could muster. Even today, at 30 years of age, I see them as the child asking me for ice cream or wanting to go to the movies. Even today, I worry about their well being every moment of the waking day.

So I ask, "How can we sacrifice our children when it is we that should pay the price?"

I know today I have been on the dark side a bit and I do not mean to bring you, my fellow readers down, but I feel I must voice my thoughts. I can only hope you empathize with me. "Why must the children pay?"

GOP Gone Wild

Being of Mexican descent, one would think that I could never be associated with the GOP Party.  Over most of my adult years I did however favor much of what they did and accomplished, until they began to change for the worse.  The article reprinted below is one that I believe all Americans should read regardless whether they do or do not support the GOP. Did they forget what we just celebrated...Independence Day?

The GOP’s Descent Into Madness–And America’s Apartheid (via HgTransEcon)
Years from now historians are going to have a ball with the early 21st century aren’t they? As political upheavals go, some historians in the future might say the election (and re-election) of Barack Obama might be the most consequential event in…

Obama Budget Joke

President Obama is about to release the new fiscal budget plan that he favors some two months after it was due.  Obama and the Congress make a joke out of their legal responsibility to the American public.  New rounds of debate are likely as the childlike method of choosing a plan is implemented.

Obama to unveil budget on April 10 (via AFP)
US President Barack Obama will unveil his long-awaited budget for the fiscal year 2014 on April 10, two months after he was required by law to do so, the White House said Thursday. Obama's fiscal blueprint has been held up by successive showdowns between the White House and Republicans in Congress…

Fear in the Fields - In These Times

Fear in the Fields - In These Times

This article only helps to prove what may of us already know.  Just as in the days of slavery, the abuse continues, in a different form of slavery. Many have told of their fear in the fields only to have to endure even more fear.  One would think in this modern time in America such atrocities would not exist.  Sadly, it shamefully exists.
